About Us

Established in 1976

Troop 171 embraces three goals: 

Developing Great Leaders – Learning – Having Fun.

We meet on Monday nights from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in uniform at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, except for the first Monday of each month when we hold our Patrol Leader's Council and often provide special classes for other scouts in the troop. 

​Troop 171 is proud to have over 170 Eagle Scouts!

Our Goal

The primary goal for Troop 171 and for Scouting is to encourage Scouts to grow, foster leadership, and to "Be Prepared for Life." Through Scouting Skills and Merit Badges which cover a range of topics and curriculum training, through experiences in leadership, and the principles of the Scout Oath and Law, each Scout develops into the best version of the person they want to become.​
