Rainy Mountain, Georgia. June 22-29. A week of fun, merit badges, and camaraderie! $455 per scout ($205 for adults). Please sign up with the link below! February 09 Services at 9:30 and 11:00 at WCUMC Scout Sunday will be recognized on Sunday, February 09th at Williamson Capel UMC. All Scouts are asked to attend at least one service. Families are welcome to attend with their scouts. Scout Sunday is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults in Scouting at WCUMC. It’s important that we have a strong presence to highlight the scouting program and show our appreciation for the ongoing support of WCUMC. PLC Weekend
February 15-16 Col. Robertson's Farm, Statesville, NC Our annual PLC weekend for all Scout Leaders will be February 15 and 16. We need all Scouts 1st Class and above to sign up to attend. This campout is the primary opportunity to practice and learn from the leadership fundamentals that you learn throughout the year at PLC meetings. All AWs - we need you at PLC weekend to help supervise at stations and provide feedback on the leadership techniques employed by Scouts. For all PLC weekend attendees, you also need to be present at the next PLC meeting on Monday, February 3. Costs to cover expenses at PLC will be $10 per Scout and $15 per adult. Adult volunteers are still needed. Troop 171 will now be having meetings OUTSIDE until the weather forces us back inside (end of December!)

February 15, 10-12:30 WCUMC The United Methodist Men's group at WCUMC is planning their annual Barbecue fundraiser on Saturday, February 15 at Williamson's Chapel from 10am - 12:30 pm. We need Scouts and adult volunteers to help the UMM group distribute the BBQ that morning. We owe a debt of service and gratitude to the UMM group for providing financial support to our Troop and also missions and ministries across the state and around the world. Scouts that are 2nd class and below and AWs not planning to attend PLC, please mark your calendars and plan to help out at this event. Once we receive more details, a signup will be created for volunteers. |
