About

Troop 171 embraces three goals:

Developing Great Leaders – Learning – Having Fun.

Scouts learn the importance of community service, how to survive in the wilderness, first aid, environmental consciousness, and tons of other cool stuff. But while we like to do all this we also like to have FUN rock climbing, camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, and more.

Our troop is growing larger every year. We currently have more that 100 active boys. Troop 171 has earned Troop of the Year in the Gemstone district SEVEN of the last Eight years - 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2018

We meet on Monday nights from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in uniform at
Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, except for the first Monday of each month when we hold our Patrol Leader's Council and often provide special classes for other scouts in the troop.

Troop 171 has over 130 Eagle Scouts.

Established in 1976
