We want your Christmas trees!
As many of you know, Troop 171 is world famous for building some of the most incredible bonfires. One of the main elements of the bonfire is Christmas trees. We would like to have your retired Christmas tree after the holiday season. There are two ways you can donate. You can bring your trees to Williamson United Methodist Church and drop them off at the Scout trailers. Or, you can send an email to [email protected] with your address and we will come pick up your tree. Winter Backpacking Trip
January 15-16 Linnville Gorge We will be hiking a segment of the Mountain to Sea Trail, beginning at Table Rock Mountain State Park and ending at the Shortoff Trailhead - appx 7.5 miles total. We will be camping overnight. This is a bring what you can carry, cook your own food, in cold weather, advanced scout adventure. Stunning sites to behold of the Linville Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of the East. |
February 16-18
Col. Robertson's Farm Statesville, NC Col. Robertson will once again be hosting a PLC weekend at his farm. This is very a valuable learning weekend, and is always a blast! All First Class Scouts and above are STRONGLY encouraged to attend. - ADULTS - We will need help from you in many areas to make this weekend a success. There are opportunities to mentor stations, help with the mess crew, and to help build the 171-style bonfire on Saturday night. All Aw's who can help out should contact Col. Robertson. All volunteers will need to attend the PLC meeting on Monday, February 05. |
